BARBADOS MINISTER OF EDUCATION  MEETS CHEVENING SCHOLARS

The Hon Ronald Jones, Minister of Education in Barbados,  met the four Barbados awardees of the prestigious Chevening Scholarship and presented certificates to each of them and to a Grenadian awardee.The presentation ceremony took place today 27 August 2015 at the British High Commission offices in Collymore Rock at 9.00 am.Awardees are:

studying Environmental Change & International Development at Sheffield University

Rommel Hall

studying Film Production at the University of South Wales

Sade Jemmott

studying Law at University College, London

Grenada

studying Law at Queen Mary, University of London

The Chevening Scholarships scheme is the global scholarship programme of the British government. The Scholarships are awarded to exceptional individuals with leadership potential and they enable recipients to study one-year Masters courses in a range of subjects at UK universities.

 The Scholarships are funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and aim to support UK foreign policy priorities by creating lasting positive relationships with future leaders, influencers and decision makers.

A total of nine Scholarships have been awarded to nationals from Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean to study in the UK 2015-16.
