Senator and acting Minister of Tourism, Irene Sandiford-Garner, last night opened
Barbados’ most recent Indian restaurant, Asian Spice, in St James.
Located in the recently-renovated All Seasons Resort, Sunset Crest, Asian Spice is
part of the hotel’s six-year, $4 million renovation and rebranding exercise.
“Establishment of this new restaurant is a welcomed addition to the culinary product
of Barbados,” Sandiford-Gardner said.
She added, “I am told that this restaurant will be the only one on the West Coast
offering authentic Indian Mughlai cuisine. I congratulate All Seasons Resort on this
Hotel Director, Soni Kessuram explained, “Mughlai cuisine is one of the most popular
cuisines in North India, whose origin can be traced back to the times of the Mughal
Empire. Known for its richness, using exotic spices, dried fruit & nuts, these dishes
were prepared in the kitchens of the royal Mughal Emperors”.
